Lingering snowfield on the north side of Donohue Pass
A firm, steep snowfield remains on the Yosemite side of Donohue Pass between roughly 10,800 ft and the pass itself. Early-morning crossings are icy. Carry traction and an ice axe, or plan to cross after mid-morning once the surface softens.

Increased bear activity around Charlotte Lake and Kearsarge Lakes
Rangers report repeated overnight bear visits to campsites near Charlotte Lake and the Kearsarge Lakes basin. Bear canisters are required and must be closed and set at least 100 ft from tents. Do not leave scented items in vestibules.
